Ricky’s Resourceful Resources

logo

Resourceful Resources? I see the entire internet as one huge resource but not everything within is resourceful to me. I can’t imagine not being able to bookmark all of my personal “must have” resources. I feel like I have a safety deposit box of time-saving bookmarks built right into my browser. I love to stumble upon great resources and it’s even better when other people do all the leg work for me. Since I’m always taking, I thought that I should start giving back so that others can have a fatter safety deposit box too. Below is a list of links that I think are worthy of bookmarking.

1. Photoshop Online

What do you do when you need Photoshop but the computer you are forced to use only has MS Paint? You use the Photoshop online! Create a free account, upload your images and edit. There’s even an email option available once you are done editing. Pretty slick!

2. Blind Text Generator

Are you still waiting on that slow Copywriter to send you copy while your client is waiting to see the new site mockup? Then let me introduce you to my friend, Lorem Ipsum. He is great and is always there for you no matter how big or small your project may be. Don’t call him dummy text, call him … Mr. Time Saver.

3. Free Icons

Sometimes I take on a project that doesn’t pay well but I do it for “The Future”. This means that I probably won’t have the time to spend hours in Illustrator creating tiny icons. Thank greatness that there are people who give their icons away FREE!

4. Inspirational Art

Sometimes I get stuck and need a little inspiration but don’t have my Journey’s Greatest Hits CD near by. This means that I have to resort to visually seeking out inspiration. This site will blow your mind, put you in your place and force feed you humble pie! That’s a good thing though.

5. Free Hi-Res Textures

It’s hard to drop $3 on a Hi-Res Photo these days, especially when you can get them for free from me! This link has a bunch of high quality texture images.

6. Photoshop Filters

Here’s another time-saver. Some of these have 30-day trials but they’re still fun to play with.

7. Sitemap Generator

This might be the most boring resource I’m handing out but it can be one of the most rewarding if you are building a web site. If you don’t have a sitemap on your site then you might as well put your business card in a fish bowl too.

8. Free Lightroom Galleries

If you don’t have Lightroom, download the trial HERE. Lightroom has got to be the fastest way to generate a quick photo gallery for your site. If you have Lightroom then you are probably tired of the generic galleries that came with it. This link however will provide you with a bunch of free fantastic galllery options. Enjoy!

9. Cross-Browser Testing

For you web developers who are tired of testing your site in all 4 browsers to make sure it’s the same and without errors, I bring you this great web gem. Bookmark this one because it will come in handy.

Now go and pay it forward! :)
